Q. How long will it take to test The Conversion Multiplier on my website?

A. The time needed for your entire project depends upon the structure and component part of your website… like the number of pages on the site, the number of unique visitors you get every day, how quickly you approve the changes that we are suggesting, etc. Typically, projects can take anywhere from a few weeks to 2 or 3 months depending on the nature of your site and complexity of the tests you need.

However, our Conversion Multiplier services can be used on websites or landing pages which get as few as 500 unique visitors a day. Q. Exactly how do you manage to show different versions of my website to different visitors during the testing period?
A. Our software will provide you with some JavaScript code that will automatically rotate the different versions among visitors visiting your website or landing page. Let us assume there are 10 versions of your website that need to be tested. When the first visitor comes to the site, the script tracks it and directs him/her to Version 1 on your site. When the next visitor arrives, he/she will be directed to Version 2 of the site, and so on. When the 10th visitor comes to the site, he/she will be directed to Version 10 of the site. Then when the 11th visitor comes to the site, he/she will be directed to Version 1 again.
Q. How do you insure that visitors who see a particular version will go back to that same version when they re-visit? Won't my visitors get confused if they see a different version of the site if they come back to my site a few days later?
A. When a visitor comes to the site for the first time, a cookie is automatically placed in the visitor's computer, which keeps track of which version is being shown. When he/she returns to the site at a later date, the cookie is automatically checked to determine which version of the site he/she was shown on their first visit, and then the same version is again displayed. Therefore, each visitor always gets to see the same version of the site as they had seen on their first visit. And cookies are not the only tool we use to insure this consistency. In addition to the cookies, we also use I.P. address-based tracking to make sure visitors are shown the same version on every visit in case they have deleted the cookie.
Q. How can we be sure that the traffic split between the sites is statistically sound and equal?
A. As explained previously, the software rotates the test versions as each new site visitor arrives. Because the visitors are rotated evenly across the different test versions the average quality of visitors received by each version is basically the same, insuring that the split is statistically sound.
Q. How do I know the improvement in the conversion rate of my website is due to your MultiVariate Testing System rather than changes in the market conditions or the external environment?
A. This is taken care of by the Verification Test where the new versions of your website recommended by our software are tested against the original version of your site at the same time. This insures we are testing all the versions on a real-time basis under the same market conditions. Consequently, any changes in market conditions that occur between the initial tests and the verification test will be equally applicable to all the versions. Therefore, any difference between the conversion rates of our versions and your original version must be because of the Multiplier’s software analysis rather than any changes in the external environment.
Q. Will I need to install any software on my website?
A. You only need to add some JavaScript code to your site, which we will send you along with detailed, easy-to-understand instructions on how to add the code to your site. Other than that, nothing else needs to be installed on your site because everything else is done from our servers.
Q. I have a number of pages in my site. Will you concentrate on improving the conversion rate for all the pages or for a single page?
